About this paper
Every morning this site prints the front pages of exactly one hundred years ago. The headlines and stories are real: they are the OCR text of the scanned pages, quoted as printed, with any reading errors left in. We never write or invent news.
The scans and text come from Chronicling America at the Library of Congress, built with the National Endowment for the Humanities and state partners. The Library believes these newspapers are in the public domain or have no known copyright restrictions; works published in the United States in 1926 entered the public domain in 2022.
Images load straight from the Library of Congress image service. Each clipping links to its original page.
A Dutch edition from Delpher is not offered, because newspapers younger than 140 years are not licensed for this kind of reuse.
